Incredible Pressure Points
For Healing and Self Protection

Some people are sensitive to what is going on in their mind and body, but many of us have far too much to do each day to tune in to our sensitivity. Unfortunately we fail to notice the pressure we put on our body's organs.

After a while your body will reveal that something needs to change in your lifestyle. If you still do not notice, your body will become less subtle with its message. You may become unwell, sick, or dis-eased.

Your body tells you that something needs to change Right Now!

Our aim in Harmony, is to give you the tools to keep Your body maintained at a good level of health... prevention is far better than cure!

You can use Neurolymphatic Massage simply using your hands and fingers to rub, knead, and stimulate in a circular manner. By regularly massaging certain areas of your body, you can greatly reduce stress.

If you do this for a few minutes a couple of times each day, it will go a long way towards experiencing Optimum Health.

Of course there are many factors involved in Health... air, water, nutrition, exercise, relaxation, and mind power. All of these need to be worked on. For Best Results check out my Optimum Health Secrets

One of the best massage points you can use is regarded as the '2nd brain', and many of the body's functions are related to the Solar Plexus.

Place the fingers of both hands just under your ribcage, and push in and slightly up. Add some pressure, massage the whole area, and breathe deeply to release tension after a few minutes.

A simple but Very Powerful method for great results... if you do it daily!

The next great massage point is your centre of gravity, 2 fingers below your belly button, the Japanese call this One Point. Place your fingers on this point, add some pressure, and rotate the massage in a circular manner.

A few minutes, a couple of times every day for best effects.

Another practise using this one point is to put your mind there. Focus and concentrate your thoughts in this area for meditation or contemplation, or to control extremes of emotion... anger, sadness etc.

In Aikido we are taught to have our minds focused on the one point constantly. This gives us the ability to react quickly to fast changing circumstances in our environment, to be able to control unexpected events.

Pressure Points
For Self Protection

Traditional Chinese medicine theory is based on the idea that specific pathway lines called meridians exist on the human body, along which are found many hundreds of acupressure points.

Acupuncture is the most well known use of the meridian system. Pressing, seizing or striking these points with specific intent and at certain angles can result in either increasing or reducing qi circulation in the body.

In Martial arts, these pressure points can be used to disable and defeat opponents. The angle at which a pressure point is attacked is very important to get the Best Effects.

When these points are stimulated by pressing or striking, the resulting pain registers on more than one nerve pathway. The brain receives signals from multiple nerves and the pain felt is greatly intensified.

Pressure Points are very small... How can I really hit them?

The points themselves are small, but the area of activation is about the size of a fist, and there are 360+ places on the body to hit.

Do I have to hit them in a specific order?

Absolutely Not.

Are there one strike Knockouts?

Yes!

Do I need to practise Martial Arts to learn this?

No.

How long does the effect last when I hit a point?

This depends on how well it was struck, but as a rough guideline, the effect on the body lasts for approximately 20 minutes on a decreasing scale. The lighter the touch the quicker the body cycles return to normal.

Are their dangers involved?

There are certain dangers in practising all Martial and fighting Arts. These can be greatly reduced by a well trained instructor.

There are many possible reasons for points not working for you. Using one or two of the Key Principles will usually solve most problems. Correct angle and direction are the main reason for failure.

Also, bear in mind that some people just do not feel the pain at very low power levels. DO NOT increase the power levels in training, though you should use full power for street defence.

Nearly all Aikido Techniques have the potential elements of pressure point strikes available in them. These can be very useful in reducing the strength and focus to escape or control an attacker.

If the technique chosen, is the correct choice in the circumstances, and has perfect timing, then pressure point strikes will not be necessary :)

In Aikido, Atemi is the term used for a distracting strike to give you an advantage over your attacker.

Atemi does include a Wide Range of Applied Force, from striking without touching to striking vital points with the intent of causing unconsciousness. Knowing the different effects of a strike on various parts of the body can greatly improve your technique and self defence skills.

Of course, the largest weapon available to you, wherever you are, is the planet Earth itself :) Hitting your attacker with this weapon, by unbalancing them, so they fall down, offering valuable time to retreat or take control.
