Richard Spiegel, a self-described flower child from the 60s, is founder of the Volcanic Island Honey Company and, according to ‘National Geographic Magazine’, he makes some of the best honey in the entire world.
After leaving his law practice in the 70s to travel about in a Volkswagen bus, Richard Spielgel ‘settled down’ to an intense exploration of country living. However, four years in a lakeside cabin with only wood fires for heat and cooking in below zero temperatures and then a serious chainsaw accident, finally forced him to uproot to the warmth of Hawaii to heal.
Richard and his late wife Laura began 16 years of working together, developing a way to capture the rare nectar of the Kiawe flower in its most natural form. The honey was given away to family and friends. Richard left the area when his wife died, but eventually returned to be with his bees full time and market the family product.
There are many reasons that make Rare Hawaiian Organic White Honey so unique: among which are its purity, nutritional qualities, exquisite taste, silky smooth texture and pearlescent white colour. It has a deliciously delicate, tropical flavour and unlike most honeys, an unprocessed, naturally thick and buttery texture.
Richard, a long time student of Buddhism, uses his work as a way to practice kindness, compassion and awareness. Committed to continuous improvement in his beekeeping techniques, he uses non-violent, non-toxic methods in all aspects of production. He also takes only the surplus honey stored by the bees, leaving them enough for their own needs. The finished product is as close to its natural state as possible, except that it is in a jar!
“Bees historically have been looked at as a connection to the spiritual,” says Richard. “The Earth grows the tree, the tree grows the flowers, the bees gather the nectar. But the bees also help me remember what’s real. If I move too fast, they’ll sting me.” Honeybees have the lowest negative environmental impact of any agricultural endeavour. Their footprint is small, less than an acre for 100 colonies, while their positive impact is large – the pollination of all the flowers that grow around the hive area. TO REDUCE STRESS Here we will look at a simple but truly magical way to let go of Your stress, tension and dis-ease, for the prevention of ill health.
It is widely accepted that stress is the root cause of a majority of your ailments. It stops your body from its work of healing itself by tightening muscles and constricting the blood vessels.
The circulation becomes partly blocked and the heart has to work harder than it should. It also affects the hormonal balance by restricting the natural work of the body's organs.
The ability to truly relax is getting more and more difficult to achieve. We are bombarded with tasks we need to perform, and the list is never clear. There is always something we should be doing in order to make some 'Space and Time to Relax' and let-go of the cares of the world.
The way we are encouraged to set up our lifestyles is a disaster waiting to happen. It seems we are supposed to be running around like head-less chickens, not knowing whether we are coming or going.
Of course we very rarely find that space... BUT you have to say to yourself 'What are my essentials?' and 'what can I drop from my life?' We recommend You act on this information and simplify your lifestyle, so that you can 'Make Time for You' and finally relax - see below...
LET-GO OF YOUR PAST FEELINGS There is a very simple way of releasing negative emotions that you have collected during your life so far. These emotions are stored in your subconscious mind and carried with you everywhere you go. After a while they become heavy and difficult to drag around. These negative emotions are collected every time you have experiences that you do not enjoy... shock, trauma, illness, whenever things dont go as You wish in your life. Many people would say that to release some of this baggage you will need to have many expensive visits to a professionally trained therapist. Maybe a psychiatrist, doctor, counsellor, or healer etc. Yes this can help reduce stress and tension in your life, but maybe you don't want to get attached or share your inner problems with a stranger, or matbe you just cannot afford it. One way of overcoming this is to make sure you have a group of good friends you can fall back on in times of need. This way you can share your problems with them, and they will share theirs with you. Wouldn't it be nice to just let-go and release all of this rubbish? To let go of the past and truly live in the present moment... Now! A simple technique called ESR (emotional stress release) can be practised whenever you wish. It takes anything from a few minutes (small recent problems) to an hour (large long term problems). You can have a great effect with this simple exercise. The following exercises are very easy to carry out. In fact all that is required is that you just work through the steps, one-by-one for it to have a good effect. Of course like everything in life, the more you put into it, the more benefits you will get out of it.
TO RELEASE YOUR PAST EMOTIONS This is a Very Powerful Method and can release tearful emotions... you may cry, but this is a positive reaction that will help you to take a weight off your shoulders and benefit you right away... NOW! There are neurolymphatic holding points on the forehead and on the back of the neck that we automatically use. If you are shocked or suddenly stressed you will put your hand across your forehead, this controls some of the emotion involved in the situation. Also, when you ache, are tired, or stressed, your hand will often go to the back of your neck. In both of these examples, we can see this is a built-in response, and your body's natural reaction to aid the healing proccess. Here are the exact instructions for you to try...
1 - Find somewhere comfortable to sit, that is private, where you won't be disturbed... keep your spine straight. 2 - Breathe deeply several times before you begin. 3 - Put your right hand across the front of your forehead, covering the whole area. (relax your elbow and shoulder) 4 - Put your left hand on the back of your neck, covering the whole area. 5 - Hold the Points on your head and neck and Focus your thoughts on a past negative feeling and try to experience it again. 6 - Ask yourself the following questions, and answer them, one-by-one... 7 - Where is it in my body? 8 - What size is it? 9 - What colour is it? 10 - Could I welcome whatever I am feeling? 11 - Could I let it go… just for now? 12 - Would I let it go? … When? Repeat this process several times until the negative emotion and feelings are released... it is Powerful and Works!
Once you become used to this process, with practise, you can release negative feelings instantly as they arrive in your life.
In time you will become more relaxed, at ease and accept life as it is... positive and negative vibrations. Everything that comes to you in life, is for your development and experience. The skill is to learn the lesson and move forward positively.
We hope this is useful to you and remember, don't overlook the simplicity of this technique. It is one of the most powerful tools I have found after many years of research.
