Red Light Therapy


Welcome to your Harmony newsletter, in this issue we will take a look at Red Light Therapy and how you can benefit.


Red Light Therapy is an approach that uses specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light to penetrate the skin. It was originally developed by NASA to help promote plant growth in space.


It has been extensively studied and is used to support healthy cellular function, skin rejuvenation, muscle recovery, and general well-being.


Research suggests that red and near-infrared light may improve cellular metabolism and promote wellness by supporting biological processes.


The reaction triggered by light exposure is similar to photosynthesis in plants, where light energy is converted into chemical energy to fuel cells.


Red light therapy works by delivering certain wavelengths of red (620–660nm) and near-infrared (810–850nm) light through the skin, where it is absorbed by the mitochondria, which are the energy centres of cells.


It appears that this light exposure supports mitochondrial function and assist in the natural production of Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP), the molecule that stores and transports cellular energy.


By promoting healthy ATP production, red light therapy helps you support cellular vitality, recovery, and overall function.
