NATURE AND THE ENVIRONMENT

Everything that happens on and around the planet earth is controlled by the forces of nature. Natural cycles, such as the seasons, day and night, birth, growth, death, all have an effect on the lives of plants, animals and human beings. Rocks and minerals are also effected by the movement of the planet, the flow of rivers and streams and the heat of the seasons.

Mother Earth is often seen as a living, growing, and fertile being. She gives food and shelter to all living things, protects us throughout our lives and reclaims our bodies after death to continue the cycle of nature. People and their technology have found many ways of interfering with Nature, but in the battle for power over the earth, the forces of nature will almost certainly win.

Water covers most of the earth's surface and many people believe that life started in the oceans. Later developing into plants, animals and humans, that could live on land. The rivers and streams of the world transport people and cargo all over the earth. Water has the power to wear away stone, and carves its own route across the countryside, forming caves and canyons.

Water also has the power to help purify the human body by flushing out the toxins and chemicals we absorb from our way of life, our lifestyle, and how we choose to live in our 'modern', 'civilised' society.

We can prepare or Repair our lifestyle, increase our Energy, promoting good physical health and longevity, a greater mental power, and spiritual development. You CAN be Calm, at ease, and in harmony with nature.

PROTECT YOUR NATURAL ENVIRONMENT

Everything around us makes up our environment, from the air we breathe to the ground we walk on. Where we live and work make up our personal environment. Unfortunately, people try to control nature, and have developed powerful ways of changing the environment. By building dams in rivers and accidentally forming more deserts, polluting the air, land and oceans in the name of progress etc.

ECOLOGY is the study of living things in relation to their environment, which includes physical features of the land, the weather, the interaction with other animals and humans. Plants produce their own food, absorbing the sun's energy, the rainwater, and the minerals from the soil. Plants are producers, animals and humans are consumers as they eat other plants or animals. A combination of producers and consumers make up a complex system of survival called the food chain.

ECOSYSTEMS are areas where the conditions are most suited to certain plants and animals, and where they provide each other with food and shelter. This makes an ecosystem almost self-contained. Over hundreds of years, animals and plants have adapted to environmental changes. As long as there is no drastic change, such as flood or drought, the system stays in balance and harmony.

GLOBAL ISSUES such as pollution and deforestation ... pesticides, toxic fumes, cfc's etc. all ruin the land and the air we breathe causing acid rain. Cutting down rainforests has ruined the natural home of millions of animals and plants. Rainforests help control the earth's atmosphere and their destruction is having a serious worldwide effect.

How can we hope to stop this global problem ?

1) Support Green Issues, actively or by donations to their cause.

2) Recycle your waste locally.

3) Use products that do not damage the environment.

4) Be Healthy and not be a drain on society and its services.

One of the BEST methods to free us from these burdens is to re-balance our chakras and Boost our energy centres. This can be achieved through the practise of Yoga, an ancient, tried-and-tested method of training.

The routine I personally use is easy-to-learn, Simple to perform, re-balances all of the energy centres and only takes 15 minutes a day. Tibetan Monks have used this method for thousands of years to increase their energy and health... Tibetan Yoga

POLLUTING THE EARTH

You name it, we do it, from polluting the air with toxic fumes to dumping waste at sea and on land. Most of the transport we use is pumping out rubbish into the air and poisoning the atmosphere. All of these bad habits damage our habitat and destroy wildlife.

RECYCLING is now essential to help reduce the damage done to the planet. Many are now turning to renewable resources such as solar, water and wind power to make electricity. Oil fired and nuclear power stations produce dangerous waste. There are many recycling schemes which help us to re-use paper, glass, plastics and aluminium etc.

THE GREEN MOVEMENT shows us how we can care for the Earth. In order to preserve the planet for future generations we must look ahead. The green movement is a term used to describe campaign groups which were set up to fight for the rights of the Earth. They look at ways to combat pollution, including acid rain and global warming.

We cannot hope to attain vibrant health without looking at the principles and laws of nature. There are many subtle forms of power and energy available to us almost anytime and anywhere. We sometimes forget that the most natural things in the World are powerful sources of energy.

Using these simple and practical methods daily will improve our energy and vitality to restore and maintain health. The Natural Laws of the body can be summed up as - Right Living and Right Thinking. The following elements are always available to us and packed with vibrant energy for our use :

Air, Water, Nutrition, Exercise, Sleep and Relaxation, Mind Power.
