What is the Future of Aikido?
Unfortunately, like many martial arts, Aikido student numbers are dropping. The future of traditional and even modern arts are at risk.
Some arts will gradually fade out of existence!
Many of the traditional martial arts have a massive syllabus of techniques. Students take years to learn, and be able to demonstrate by memory.
High ranking instructors tend to have a very tight-knit group around them that get all of the 'secret training'. Are you willing to dedicate 20-30 years in one style to get access to learning these 'Secrets'?
If you repetitively practice techniques without understanding the key principles behind them, are you really improving?
I have been studying principle training for many years, and they can be used to vastly improve your skills in whatever art you practice.
Are you interested in the Aiki arts?
The reality is that there are not many Aiki Internal Masters. Of all the many thousands of Aikido and Aikijujutsu instructors and students, only a few have actually Found True Aiki.
First of all, it is quite difficult to actually track down an aiki master. There are many who say they are, and to the untrained eye, may appear to be, but upon pressure testing, are found to be lacking.
Even if you find a true aiki internal master, you will need to be close enough to visit their training venue. Also, bear in mind, that these few masters have plenty of students, so it is difficult to get training with them.
If you are persistent, you'll find a master that suits you, and do whatever it takes to learn. When you understand a few of their basic teachings...
Then YOU must do daily solo exercises to develop your skills. It takes a will of iron to
carry out the necessary training to achieve this mystical level.

Daily Solo Training on developing the body to an extreme level. Also working on the sensitivity required to achieve subtle skills.
I have recently written a complete series on Aiki Internal Masters. Of course, they would not regard themselves as masters of Aiki. But, a real master of an art would say that... wouldn't they ;)
